Job Title: Utility Worker

Reports To: Kitchen Manager/Supervisor

Purpose of Position: The Utility Worker is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of all dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment used in the work space. They ensure that all dishes are cleaned and sanitized in a timely manner and that the dishwashing area is kept clean and organized.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate industrial dishwashing equipment, including washing, rinsing and sanitizing dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment.
• Responsible for keeping the dishwashing area clean, organized, and well-stocked with supplies.
• Assist in the cleaning and maintenance of the kitchen area, including mopping floors and taking out trash.
• Follow all safety and sanitation guidelines, including proper handling and storage of cleaning chemicals.
• Follow all company policies and procedures, including those related to safety and sanitation.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management, such as assisting with food preparation or receiving and stocking deliveries.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Prior experience in a dishwashing or kitchen support role is preferred.
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Must be able to stand for extended periods of time and lift and move heavy items.
• Must have a professional appearance and attitude.
• Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Must have basic knowledge of kitchen equipment and cleaning chemicals.
• Must be able to follow detailed instructions and procedures.
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

Physical Demands:

• Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
• Frequently required to stand, bend, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.
