Job Title: Banquet Bartender

Reports To: Banquet Manager/Supervisor

Purpose of Position: The banquet bartender is responsible for providing excellent service to guests at banquet events by mixing and serving drinks in a timely and professional manner. They ensure that guests have a positive experience and that all alcohol is served responsibly, in compliance with all state and local laws.

Key Responsibilities:

Mix and serve drinks to guests in a timely and professional manner, following proper bartending etiquette. This includes preparing and serving a wide variety of cocktails, beer, wine, and non-alcoholic beverages, while maintaining the highest standards of service, quality and presentation.

Maintain a clean and organized bar area, including stocking and restocking supplies such as ice, glassware, liquor, beer, wine, and mixers.

Follow all safety and sanitation guidelines by ensuring that the bar area is clean and hygienic at all times, and that all equipment is in good working order.

Respond to guest requests and complaints in a timely and professional manner, providing excellent customer service to ensure that guests have a positive experience.

Handle cash and credit card transactions accurately and responsibly, including making change, and keeping accurate records of all transactions.

Follow all company policies and procedures, including those related to alcohol service, and ensuring that all guests are of legal drinking age.

Perform other duties as assigned by management, such as setting up and breaking down the bar area before and after events, and assisting with banquet setup and cleanup as needed.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent.

Prior experience as a bartender in a banquet or restaurant setting is preferred.

Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Must have excellent customer service skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with guests, colleagues and management.

Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.

Must have a professional appearance and attitude, with a strong attention to detail.

Must have knowledge of proper bartending etiquette and techniques, including experience with a wide variety of cocktails, beer, wine, and non-alcoholic beverages.

Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time.

Must have knowledge of all state and local laws regarding alcohol service, and hold a valid TIPS or other alcohol serving certification.

Must have basic knowledge of math and cash handling.

Must have the ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

Physical Demands:

Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds

Frequently required to stand, walk, use hands, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.
